Where Do I Begin!?
WOW! What a busy time it has been! Fun, but so busy! I am so behind on blogs and catching up on friends that I really have NO CLUE about what's going on with most of you! Much less sitting down to blog myself. SOOO here we go and who knows where THIS will lead!?
Two weeks ago we went to Hilton Head Island and had such a good time that none of us wanted to come home. Having my husband and daddy all to ourselves was such a treat. Just being able to take our time doing whatever we wanted as a family for an entire week really spoiled us all! Guess that's why they call it a VACATION!
We did lots of fun things, but none of them earth shattering. We rode bikes.... and when I say we rode bikes I mean we RODE BIKES! We rented enough for all 5 of us for the entire week. When I say 5 I mean the three of us and my in-laws, and ALL of us rode and rode and rode.
Here's Caroline on her tandem bike with daddy...
Here's Paw Paw on his bike....
And here are Grammy and Paw Paw's bikes after a long ride on the beach. Paw Paw is forever doing something silly and this was no exception. He's really fun to hang out with and I loved spending time with both of my in-laws. WHAT a blessing!
One day we rode 8 miles together. Half of it was on the beach and half of it was on roads. It was so much fun, but I was SOO ready to not ride a bike again for a while!
Another day we went to a nature preserve on our bikes. We saw birds...
... and we passed lots of water which gave plenty of opportunities to stop to look for alligators!
As long has he stays out there I am doing good!!
Oh... my aching hiney! I am walking from now on!!
Bless her heart. GET ON THE BIKE!
When we went to the beach we had a little bit of a walk. Here's our little beach beauty carrying her chair... because mama ain't carrying another thing!
Scenery along the walk was GORGEOUS AND there were GINORMOUS houses with beautiful moss hanging from the trees surrounding them..
Almost there.... But where's the chair??? Daddy caved.
While we were on the beach we really played and just read and relaxed.
Singing a song and playing in the sand...
Playing with Daddy...
Who can build the best "Dr. Seuss Castle" (as we like to call them!)? Daddy?
Or Caroline?
One day was cloudy and a little cool with the beach winds... bundle up and sit with mama!
Another day the local shopping area had crafts for kids. Caroline decided to paint a "treasure box" and Grammy helped.
Great job girlfriend!
We honestly just wanted to stay for another week. The time that we spent doing puzzles, reading, talking and just being quiet really made for a special time! What a blessing it is to have a family that I love and the opportunity to enjoy God's creation! One day as I sat on the beach I just started crying. It was just overwhelming to me to see all that God has created and to be able to enjoy it with my sweet family just made it even better. I am honestly not ready for school to begin because it just means that we have to be back on a schedule and not able to share with one another as much.
Well, there's more to share but at another time! I am off to get a few things done before bed. Hope everyone is enjoying YOUR summer as much as I am mine! ;)

I laughed at the picture with no chair & "Dad caved"... funny!!!
And no alligators for me... I'd take off screaming!
Hope you are able to enjoy each minute of your summer that's left! I'm praying for you and Caroline as you prepare for school to start back.
Love you, Faith
What a wonderful, relaxing, family vacation. I heard your heart in it about appreciating God's wonderful creation and your family all bundled together on a happy trip. It will make for forever memories and motivate you to do that at least once a year... take a vacation that is.
Great post. I really enjoyed stopping by. There is such a peace I get when I'm reading your blog.
